Margaret Sherlock
A funeral mass for Margaret Sherlock was celebrated by the Rev. David Pleier, on August 5, 2008.
Margaret Sherlock passed away on Friday, August 1, 2008, at the age of 87.
Margaret was born in Ashland, on May 31, 1921, to Seth Raymond Whitfield and Rebecca Dixie Whitfield. After high school, she began work as the Executive Secretary at Miller's National Federation in Chicago, Ill. While working at Miller's, she met the love of her life and married John Sherlock Jr. on January 29, 1953. They raised their three children in Highland Park, Ill., and they later relocated to Rockville, Md. After her children were grown, she became the Receptionist/ Administrative Assistant at the Rockville Senior Center until she moved to Green Bay, Wis.
She was a wonderful cook that could always be found in the kitchen wearing her kitten heels. She loved starting her morning with a cup of coffee and a crossword puzzle. She was a dedicated card player who enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Margaret was the beloved wife of the late John J. Sherlock Jr., devoted mother of Susan Dieffenbach, Judy (Warren) Wanezek, and John (Joanne) Sherlock III. She was the grandmother of Otto Dieffenbach, Claire Dieffenbach, Bryan Dieffenbach, Amy Wanezek, Mike Wanezek, Emily Wanezek, Jackie Wanezek, Tyler Sherlock, Ally Sherlock, Christian Sherlock, and Hannah Sherlock. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marianne St. Lawrence and her brother, William Whitfield.
